Chai Snickerdoodles

Level up your snickerdoodle game with some chai! This cookie recipe features Tasting India's Amma's Chai Masala. The cookies pair excellently with a delicious cup of Cutting Masala Chai. Recipe makes around 20.

Ingredients for the cookies

  • 1½ cups flour
  • ½ cup sugar
  • 2 tsp Tasting India Amma's Chai Masala
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • ½ tsp baking powder
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • 6 Tbsp butter melted, and cooled slightly
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 1 Tbsp soy milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Ingredients for the topping 

  • ¼ cup sugar
  • 1 tsp Tasting India Amma's Chai Masala


  1. In a large bowl, mix the dry ingredients together. 
  2. Drizzle in the melted butter, stirring to combine. 
  3. Mix in the egg yolk, soy milk and vanilla. 
  4. Form into 1.5” balls. 
  5. In a small bowl, mix the sugar and chai masala. 
  6. Coat each of the balls lightly with this spiced sugar by gently rolling them in the bowl one at a time. 
  7. Freeze for 1 hour. Preheat the oven to 325°F. 
  8. Place the balls on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper with 2” space in between each ball. 
  9. Bake for 12-14 minutes. 
  10. Immediately after taking the cookies out of the oven, sprinkle with a pinch of the chai sugar. 
  11. Let cool completely before storing.
